Pandit body forms panel to counter UN report on J&K

Date:- 05 Nov 2018

Panun Kashmir (PK) on Sunday constituted an eight-member committee to prepare a report on terrorist violence against minorities in J&K to counter the United Nations Human Rights Council's (UNHRC) 'biased' report on Kashmir released in summer this year. The report will be submitted at the UN headquarters in New York and the UNHRC office in Geneva, Switzerland. "The issue of human rights violations perpetrated by Pakistan-supported terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir needs to be presented before the world. The world needs to know what minorities in the state have suffered after 1990," said Lt Gen (retd) PS Mehta. The committee will compile the report in next few weeks and after that, it would be forwarded to human rights groups around the world, especially in Europe and United States. TNS
