At least six terrorists were killed in two separate encounters in J&K’s Anantnag and Baramulla districts on Thursday. Their identities have not been ascertained yet.
In Anantnag, four terrorists were killed in a gunfire with security forces. The encounter was triggered when a joint team of the Army and special operations group launched a cordon and search operation in Kharpora area on the basis of specific intelligence inputs. When the team approached the terrorists’ hideout they fired a warning shot, following which the terrorists started firing at them. Four terrorists were killed in retaliatory fire. Two more terrorists were gunned down in Authoora village in Baramulla. TNN
